Safeguarding today. Building confidence for tomorrow.
Our regulators play a critical role in ensuring that growth is accompanied by responsibility. Their oversight helps us balance expanding social security coverage and delivering member value with protecting the Fund’s long-term sustainability.
As the social security landscape evolves, continued collaboration will be important in responding to digitalisation, changing employment patterns, the growth of the informal sector and increasing expectations for accessibility and transparency.
How we engage with our regulators
Engagement takes place at Board, leadership and operational levels through regulatory reporting, policy consultation, industry initiatives, and ongoing dialogue. MGLSD oversees social security matters, while MoFPED provides oversight of the Fund’s financial and investment activities. This engagement helps us understand regulatory priorities while keeping our regulators informed of developments across the Fund.

Looking ahead
As we pursue our ambition to extend social security coverage to more Ugandans, particularly those in the informal sector, we will continue to work closely with government and our regulators to ensure that innovation, inclusion and growth are underpinned by strong governance, responsible stewardship and accountability.
Trust in social security is not created by regulation alone. It is built when strong regulation, responsible management and a relentless focus on members come together. By working together, we protect what matters today while building confidence in tomorrow.
