We continued investing in the capabilities needed for the future. A total of 250 employees enrolled in data analytics training, more than 300 in cybersecurity awareness training, and 481 in emotional intelligence learning. Leadership development also continued through the Leader as a Coach Academy to train our inhouse executive coaches and the LeadUp programme for newly appointed managers.
Wellbeing remains an important part of our employee experience. Support continued across physical, mental, social, and financial wellbeing. In addition, during the year we incorporated personal wellness goals into employee Balanced Scorecards, reinforcing the connection between wellbeing and performance.
Creating sustainable value requires us all to work together, share ideas and feel connected to the Fund’s purpose.

The strong engagement scores are driven by meaningful work, quality leadership, and connectedness to purpose. We continued hosting the MD quarterly town halls, leadership reviews using the 360-degree feedback tool, HR roadshows across the country, the annual staff conference, annual sports day, among others. These platforms strengthened employee voice and provided opportunities for our people to engage with the Fund’s strategy and direction.
We also strengthened leadership and knowledge sharing through succession planning initiatives, internal secondments, job shadowing, and coaching. More than 200 employees accessed in house coaching services, supported by a growing pool of trained coaches.
Our contribution extends beyond the workplace. By developing the skills, leadership, and capabilities of our people, we strengthen our ability to efficiently mobilise savings and invest in Uganda’s future. During the year, we continued to strengthen occupational health and safety, including training more than 50 OSH Champions, while maintaining our commitment to employee rights, dignity, and equality. No incidents of discrimination or employee rights violations were reported during the year. A capable, engaged, and resilient workforce strengthens NSSF’s ability to serve members effectively, support national development and deliver on Vision 2035.
Building inclusive sustainable wellbeing
Looking ahead, People and Culture Department will continue to develop the culture, capabilities, and leadership required for NSSF’s next phase of growth.
Our priorities include embedding our organisational culture through living the new values, strengthening digital and data capabilities, developing future leaders, deepening employee engagement, supporting inclusion and wellbeing, and maintaining a safe and high performing workplace.
“When our people are empowered to grow and contribute, we strengthen NSSF’s ability to serve members, journey together and create lasting value for Uganda. This is how our people help turn the Fund’s purpose into inclusive sustainable wellbeing for generations.”
