For exceptional customer service

Putting members first extends beyond delivering an excellent service. During our annual Customer Connect Week (CCW), we listened to our members’ stories, responded to their concerns, and gathered valuable insights that continue to shape our service delivery and deepen the trust they place in the Fund.

As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, we also launched the 40 Good Deeds initiative, taking our purpose beyond social security and into the heart of the communities we serve. Through our branch network, we engaged in community projects that improved education, healthcare, sanitation, and support for vulnerable groups.

These projects included renovating public schools, improving access to clean water and sanitation, and donating essential medical equipment to 10 health and disability facilities. Whether listening to our members during CCW or investing in communities through 40 Good Deeds, one purpose continued to guide us: Making Lives Better by serving people with empathy, excellence, and lasting impact.

Additionally, recognising that exceptional service begins with our people, we also celebrated 113 employees and 14 branches for their exceptional dedication to customer service and creation of memorable member experiences.

“Thank you, NSSF, for the great work. I managed to be part of the Connect Client this morning at Mbale Branch and it was awesome. Thank you, Mbale Branch, for the service and my gift of a branded T-shirt.”

Financial literacy trainers

Every member's financial journey is unique. Through our Financial Literacy (FL) programmes, we are empowering Ugandans with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed financial decisions, develop sustainable savings habits to achieve their long-term life goals.

Throughout the year, we continued bringing financial education closer to the communities where people live and work. Through community and workplace Money Talks, webinars, online engagements, radio talk shows, drama, and storytelling, we promoted practical financial knowledge covering personal financial management, savings, investment, debt management, and wealth creation. These engagements were augmented by Smartlife voluntary savings product, providing participants with a practical and accessible way to put their financial knowledge into action by starting their savings journey. We also encouraged communities, particularly in rural areas, to transition from traditional saving methods to more secure and formal savings solutions that support long-term financial resilience and value creation.

In collaboration with Bank of Uganda, we conducted four trainings of financial literacy trainers' programmes, graduating 120 trainers who will continue extending financial education within their communities.

Overall, we reached 1,441,673 people through 392 engagements held in the different districts across Uganda, including: Kampala, Kibaale, Mbale, Kaberamaido, Hoima, Mitooma, Sironko, Gulu, Lira, Tororo, Bulambuli, Kamuli, Sheema, Kole, Omoro, Kiruhura and Arua, among other districts. Key topics such as 'Navigating Financial Investment Options’ which were discussed through webinars further equipped members with practical knowledge to make informed financial and investment decisions.
