Conclusion: governance as a strategic capability

The governance story of NSSF is a story of value creation.

Through deliberate application of the King IV principles and the transitioning to King V™, the Fund has built a governance ecosystem combining ethical leadership, strategic oversight, prudent control, stakeholder inclusivity, innovation and sustainability, embedded across Board structures, strategy execution, assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Governance should be judged not by the existence of policies, committees, and frameworks alone, but by the outcomes generated through their application. The evidence in this chapter demonstrates that governance contributes directly to performance, stakeholder confidence, ethical conduct, and sustainable value creation.

As the Fund advances towards Vision 2035, governance will continue to serve as a strategic capability enabling NSSF to create, preserve and protect value across all six capitals while making lives better for current and future generations of members.
