The Fund declared a return to members of 22.53% in FY2025/26 resulting in UGX 5.44Tn compared to 13.50% in FY2024/25 which resulted in UGX 2.78Tn.
The Fund balance sheet size grew by 26% to UGX 32.87Tn (FY2024/25: UGX 26.01Tn). This growth is consistent with the combined growth in investments, driven by contributions and income generated, including unrealised gains, net benefits paid out.
The Fund invests in 3 asset classes: Fixed Income Securities, Equity Securities and Real Estate
The 20% growth in Fixed income investments to UGX 24.7Tn (FY2024/25: UGX 20.5Tn) was due to increased allocations to this asset class.
Equity investments increased by 74% to UGX 5.9Tn (FY2024/25: UGX 3.4Tn) attributed to, purchase of additional shares in Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank, and Equity Group Holdings and the capital gains majorly from rising share prices of CRDB, MTN, Airtel, NMB and Kenya Commercial Bank amongst other equities.
Real estate investments increased by 3% to UGX 1.56Tn (FY2024/25: UGX 1.60Tn) due to progress with ongoing projects including Pension Towers, Temangalo and Yusuf Lule.
