FY2025/26 Board induction
Following her appointment on 1 June 2026 as Director representing Workers, Hon. Agnes Abwoli Kunihira completed a comprehensive induction on 25 May 2026 at Workers House, Kampala. Presentations covered Board governance and legal affairs, the Fund's mandate and corporate structure, Vision 2035, strategy and innovation, investments, commercial operations, enterprise growth, risk, internal audit, technology, people and culture, procurement, marketing and communications, and FY2025/26 financial performance – enabling effective participation in Board deliberations from the outset.
The Corporation Secretary maintains records of Directors' development activities and reports periodically to the Board. Directors participate in targeted learning, industry engagements and governance training on emerging trends, risks, and leading practice, supporting informed oversight.

Convocation of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference
Deepened Board members' appreciation of emerging international labour issues and policy priorities, covering decent work in the platform economy, gender equality, social dialogue and tripartism, and the proposed withdrawal of Convention No. 83.
Strategic Leadership Development and Benchmarking Programme Draft Training Report
Provided insights into strategic leadership, governance, and institutional transformation, drawing on Singapore's Central Provident Fund model. It reinforced the need for a more active Board role in strategy formulation, stronger Board–Management alignment, research capability, investment diversification, and member-centric innovation.
World Social Security Forum (WSSF) 2025
Organised by the International Social Security Association and hosted by PERKESO and the Employees Provident Fund of Malaysia, the forum drew over 2,000 delegates from 137 countries under the theme “Shaping Social Security for a World in Transition”, offering lessons on expanding coverage, digital transformation, governance and resilience.

Clarified how project management and risk-based auditing support delivery of strategic objectives, covering project governance, risk assessment, audit planning, fraud detection, control testing, and value-for-money auditing.
Specialised Audit and Risk Assurance Committee Training
Strengthened ARC oversight across governance, audit, compliance, risk, technology, cybersecurity, and AI governance, emphasising outcome-based governance, fiduciary discipline, stronger risk reporting, and crisis preparedness.

Strengthened SACA oversight of stakeholder engagement, corporate affairs, human capital, and culture – covering member-centric communication, brand positioning, crisis communication readiness, and workforce planning.
