Continuous professional development

The Board maintains the knowledge and skills required to discharge its responsibilities, treating Director development as an ongoing process to support sound decision-making and governance excellence. Newly appointed Directors undertake a tailored induction covering the Fund's mandate, strategy, operations, governance framework, and operating environment, customised to each Director's background.

FY2025/26 Board induction

Following her appointment on 1 June 2026 as Director representing Workers, Hon. Agnes Abwoli Kunihira completed a comprehensive induction on 25 May 2026 at Workers House, Kampala. Presentations covered Board governance and legal affairs, the Fund's mandate and corporate structure, Vision 2035, strategy and innovation, investments, commercial operations, enterprise growth, risk, internal audit, technology, people and culture, procurement, marketing and communications, and FY2025/26 financial performance – enabling effective participation in Board deliberations from the outset.

The Corporation Secretary maintains records of Directors' development activities and reports periodically to the Board. Directors participate in targeted learning, industry engagements and governance training on emerging trends, risks, and leading practice, supporting informed oversight.
